Lab HL7 Interface
I have been working on an interface with Quest Diagnostics to be able to automagically import HL7 v2.3 messages into FreeMED. They were nice enough to furnish me with some documentation, and I have an alpha-quality implementation ready for some beating in one of our alpha sites. Now that 0.8.0 is out, I’m working steadily on a 0.8.1 release, with mostly bugfixes, some rearchitecturing, and a few nice features like this one (hopefully).

Dear Jeff,
I am a EMR consultant and Medical Doctor. I am implementing FreeMED 0.8 for practice management in the GI practice I recently joined. I need customization and database transformation help, so I am looking for a local LAMP techie. I must say… 0.8 is a “beaut.” You have done a phenomenal job with this project, and I would like to get involved somehow. I have a consulting company that used to be a development company. (umicorp.com) and I plan to do FreeMED implementations once I get comfortable with all parts of it. I am still wrestling with REMITT. Will let you know how that goes… The HL7 intergration would be AWESOME. We need that for CPOE and for results. I am just overwhelmed by FreeMED’s capabilities and potential.
Look forward to hearing from you.
